Job Summary:The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating and preparing specialized equipment to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures. This role requires sound technical judgment to ensure studies are completed with high diagnostic quality, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols.
Position patients and equipment to obtain optimal imaging results.
Educate patients about procedures, including preparation and expectations.
Review and confirm safety screenings prior to MRI scans.
Label images appropriately and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
Complete exam documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
Maintain cleanliness of MRI room and equipment at shift start and end.
Scan and manage patient-related documents.
Maintain necessary supplies and report any equipment issues.
Assist physicians as needed and perform related clerical duties.
Follow MRI safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
Adhere to infection control policies and safety guidelines.
Participate in continuing education and maintain required licensure.
Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technology program.
NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
ARRT Certification in MRI.
BCLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience in a hospital setting.
Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MR physics, and technical imaging protocols.
