About the Role

Wolf Hollow invites applications for the position of Gift Shop & Fundraising Manager. In this dynamic role, you will lead initiatives that amplify our mission by optimizing retail operations and spearheading fundraising strategies through outreach. As a key member of our team, you will work directly with the Facility & Operations Manager and the Marketing & Communications Manager to ensure outstanding visitor experiences, directly contributing to our organization's goals. This full-time position reports to the Executive Treasurer, offering an exciting opportunity to blend strategic thinking with hands-on management in a unique and mission-driven setting.

Essential Functions

Retail & Gift Shop Management:

• Oversee and lead all operations within the gift shop, including merchandising, while maintaining vendor relationships and inventory management to enrich the visitor experience.
• Seek to continually improve overall customer experience, including the efficiency of gift shop checkout and inventory control processes (Square POS).
• Monitor and analyze sales trends, identifying opportunities for introducing new product offerings.

Outreach, Fundraising & Development:

• Spearhead development campaigns and plan impactful events, while actively pursuing a variety of revenue streams such as grants, sponsorships, and donations to support Wolf Hollow's mission.
• Collaborate with marketing and communications to align messaging with development objectives, fostering and supporting growth in memberships and individual giving.

Visitor Experience & Public Engagement:

• Facilitate and contribute to engaging public and private programs that educate and inspire visitors on wolf conservation, ensuring memorable and informative experiences.
• Address and respond to visitor inquiries via phone, email, and in-person while providing excellent customer service and enhancing public engagement.

Operations Support:

• Coordinate with on-site staff to manage the online booking system (FareHarbor), facilitating weekday field trip check-ins and operating the gift shop during school visits to enhance the educational outreach.
• Oversee cash and inventory controls, providing accurate periodic financial reporting to the bookkeeper.
• Assist with ensuring the property is consistently clean and well-organized, and provide support with other miscellaneous tasks, as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, wildlife conservation, environmental education, or retail management is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in fundraising, retail, or development roles.
• Familiarity with grant writing or donor database systems is highly preferred.
• Strong computer, customer service, and public speaking skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, mission-driven team.
• High level of comfort working outdoors and around wildlife.
• Ethical and compassionate approach to wildlife care and visitor education.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
• Willingness to assist with a variety of tasks and wear multiple hats.

Compensation

• The salary for this position ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
